2 tblsp oil 500g onions, finely chopped 60g plain flour 500ml water 250ml stock 2 level tsp tomato puree 2 level tsp yeast extract seasoning |

Heat oil and fry onions until browned.
Stir in flour and cook, stirring until coloured.
Add water a little at a time and bring to the boil.
Keep stirring until it thickens. Mix in remaining ingredients and bring back to the boil.
Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve hot.
